I got a text from my mates at the game and they think that Cambridge United legend Trevor Benjamin is playing for Bedlington.

He was rather poor to say the least.

Thats because he's getting old and not getting regular full time footie. Back at the U's he was our leading scorer. That's why I said he is a legend and not that he's an ace striker because he isn't any more..

I think he was towing a caravan!

Decent contest, Bedlington got on top of us a bit after their equaliser but we stood firm and scored two more decent goals.
Played two decent northern league sides and beat them both which isn't too bad at all. Not something to go over the top about especially as the results don't really matter in pre-season. But quite decent imo.

I wasn't able to get to the match last night. Who scored and what was the team.

Pretty sure that was Ian Graham heading in our second.

I think I still need to be enthused, barring a flurry of late signings the team will look and feel very similar to last season except where we have had to plug gaps for those who think the sun shines brighter elsewhere.
The new look centre back pairing was comfortable and composed last night, pace against them may be an issue somewhere down the line.
We do however need some new blood, otherwise one could be forgiven for thinking one had nodded off midway through a game last season and then woken up this and nothing has changed. All for continuity but last years team was only good enough for lower mid table. Not sure I want that kind of continuity.
